LOVING YOUR PLANT

Hoyas grow in forest gaps, so they like bright but indirect/filtered light. Direct sunlight will damage the leaves.

This plant grows in hydroculture clay, which is becoming very popular lately as it reduces plant care and soil pests. It's harder to overwater as the clay pebbles absorb water which is then slowly released to the roots. We advise to place the nursery pot in a decorative pot or container that can hold 2-3 inches of water, which is how your plant will feed itself. Water it from above and keep the excess in the decorative pot. Water it again when the level of water has lowered.

As this plant is not in soil with nutrients, it needs a hydroponics plant food added to the water.

This plant doesn’t like cold rooms. If the temperature is comfortable for you, the plant should thrive. Hoyas are native to the tropics, but we’ve found average home humidity to be fine. During Winter, central heating can reduce humidity. A way of keeping the humidity high is to group several plants together or by sitting them on a tray of pebbles and water. Misting it a few times a week with filtered, room temperature water will also help.

Make sure to clean all leaves with a dry cloth – dust can affect its absorption of light.

Avoid moving the Hoya when blooming as it can disturb the plant.
